Washington County CSCD Scope
County materials identify CSCD at the Adult Probation Annex and historically describe service to the 21st, 335th, and 423rd District Courts and County Court at Law. Court assignments and office practice can change, so confirm the current route before relying on an old directory entry.
CSCD cannot replace the clerk as custodian of the filed judgment. The clerk cannot replace CSCD for current public reporting directions. WCSO cannot confirm that supervision remains active merely because it recorded the original jail release. Using each office for its own record produces a clear, dated answer and prevents parole from being confused with probation.
Washington County Probation Path
Probation is community supervision ordered by a court. It can follow a jail release, be imposed with suspended confinement, or arise through another sentencing structure. Washington County CSCD supervises the reporting terms. The court judgment remains the source for the legal order, length, conditions, jail credit, and later modification or discharge.
This local route differs from state parole. The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles decides parole or discretionary mandatory supervision after state imprisonment, and TDCJ Parole Division supervises those releases. A WCSO release followed by CSCD reporting does not prove a prior TDCJ prison release. Confirm each event with its own record.
Confirm Washington County Probation
Start with the Washington County criminal case. District courts generally handle felonies, while County Court at Law handles the local Class A and B misdemeanor route described by county sources. Find the signed judgment, order placing the person on community supervision, docket entries, and any later modification, revocation, or discharge.
- Identify the correct cause number, court, and person.
- Obtain the filed judgment or supervision order from the clerk.
- Read whether community supervision was imposed and note the order date.
- Contact Washington County CSCD for current public routing and reporting arrangements.
- If a jail stay preceded supervision, request the WCSO release event separately.
The Washington County post-release supervision comparison explains why the parole and probation checks cannot be substituted for each other. Ask only for public information because supervision files may contain protected details.
Washington County Probation Records
The court and CSCD hold different parts of the answer. The clerk provides the public filed order. CSCD manages present reporting and supervision. WCSO documents any physical jail exit. A later probation discharge is not the same record as the earlier jail release, and a revocation allegation is not itself a new conviction.
| Question | Best source |
|---|---|
| Was probation ordered? | Filed judgment or community-supervision order |
| Where does the person report? | Washington County CSCD public routing |
| When did jail custody end? | WCSO release event |
| Did supervision end? | Court discharge or termination order |
No public statewide lookup for ordinary Texas probationers was established. Absence from TDCJ IVSS does not disprove probation because IVSS and Parole Division concern different state custody and supervision systems.

Probation After County Jail Release
A person can leave Washington County Jail and report to CSCD under a court order. First confirm the WCSO release type and time. Then find the order that created supervision. Bond conditions are not probation merely because both can require compliance after release. Pretrial conditions attach to a pending case, while probation follows a court's supervision order.
The court file may show the sentence, jail credit, supervision term, later amendments, and final discharge. WCSO's current roster will stop being useful after the person leaves custody. CSCD is not a historical jail-release archive. The three sources should be used together when the full timeline matters.
If the person instead entered TDCJ, do not route the state-prison transfer to local probation. Check TDCJ and IVSS. If later released on parole, use the assigned TDCJ parole office.
Washington County Court Routing
Washington County's District Clerk is custodian of felony district-court files. Its office is at 100 E. Main Street, Suite 304, Brenham, with phone (979) 277-6231. County Court at Law criminal access routes through the County Clerk for Class A and B misdemeanors. Obtain the filed document, not just a search-result summary.
Look for the judgment, sentence, jail credit, community-supervision terms, later modification, motion to revoke, capias, and discharge order. A warrant entry after release shows later case activity; it does not undo the historic release. A motion or allegation is not the same as a final revocation order.
Match the cause number and booking date. Name-only results can merge different people. If a court record is restricted or missing, do not assume why. Expunction, nondisclosure, interface limits, spelling, and no filing are distinct possibilities.
Brenham Bond Release Checks
A city arrest can lead to bond release after county booking, but the bond and the exit are separate events. Washington County's official Bail Bond Board publishes local rules and forms. A roster field showing a bond amount or type does not prove payment, approval, or clearance of every hold. Confirm completion with WCSO and locate the bond order in the court case.
Personal bond is a promise authorized by the court and subject to conditions. Cash and surety bond use other mechanisms. Each can permit physical release while the charge remains pending. A later dismissal or judgment is a separate court event. Never describe bond as a final case result.
The board's linked company page bears an old effective date, so current authorization must be checked with the board. This is especially important when a police arrest occurred recently and the goal is to confirm the actual release, not merely read an old list.
Brenham Transfer Record Meaning
Transfer ends one agency's custody and begins another's. A BPD handoff to WCSO is not a community release. A later WCSO transfer to TDCJ, another county, USMS, or ICE also does not prove freedom. The source record should name the receiving agency, and that name determines the next search.
Use TDCJ and Texas IVSS when a state-prison transfer is documented. Use BOP only for federal prison records, while recognizing that USMS pretrial custody may not appear as BOP imprisonment. Use the ICE locator when immigration custody is identified. If another county accepted the person, contact that county's sheriff. Delays and scope limits make a negative portal result inconclusive.
- Arrest record
- The police document describing the arrest event and alleged basis.
- Booking record
- The jail's intake record after a custodian accepts the person.
- Release event
- The jail entry showing when and how its custody ended.
- Transfer
- A handoff to another custodian rather than return to the community.
Washington County Probation Outcomes
Supervision may end by successful discharge, court-ordered termination, revocation, or another filed outcome. Use the exact language and date in the court record. A person can also have more than one case, so the end of one probation term does not establish the status of every case.
If a violation is alleged, check the docket for the actual order. A capias or warrant can affect custody, but it does not by itself explain the final disposition. If WCSO books the person again, that creates a new custody event that must be traced separately. Do not overwrite the first release with later activity.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision managed locally by CSCD.
- Parole
- State-supervised release from TDCJ while the sentence continues.
- Revocation
- A court decision ending supervision after the required process.
- Discharge
- The filed end of a supervision term.
